Julia Fuentes has experience in merger control, antitrust proceedings, competition compliance programs and non-compete agreements.
Julia has participated in merger control proceedings and the defense of clients in investigations before the Spanish Competition Authority and the European Commission. She also has experience in litigation, in appeals before administrative courts against decisions by the competition authorities and in antitrust damages actions. She has participated in the drafting and negotiation of a wide variety of contracts, including distribution, agency and service agreements.
Prior to joining the Firm, Julia advised on Spanish and European Union law in merger control, antitrust proceedings, competition compliance programs and non-compete agreements in various markets at the Madrid and New York offices of Spanish firm Pérez-Llorca. She is a member of the Madrid Bar Association (ICAM).
Represented Ainda in obtaining the antitrust approval for the acquisition by its infrastructure and energy fund of an additional 4.4% interest in the offshore block 1.2, contract area 2, owned by Hokchi Energy, which resulted in a total participation of 8% in such offshore block.
Represented the investor consortium formed by Continental Grain Company, Organización Cultiba, Equity Group Investments, and Castle Harlan, in obtaining the antitrust approval for the acquisition of a majority stake in Baja-Aqua Farms and its subsidiaries, a leading company in the Bluefin tuna aquaculture business in Baja California, Mexico.
Represented Public Sector Pension Investment in obtaining the antitrust approval for the sale to Inmobilia of its 87% interest in the shopping center known as “The Harbor”, in Mérida, Yucatán.
