Oscar López Velarde has more than 20 years providing tax advice to companies operating in Mexico and Latin America with specific focus in structuring all sort of equity and financing structures for real estate, oil and gas, power and infrastructure projects, as well as advising the banking and finance industry. His practice comprises, among others, the structuring of private equity funds, mergers and acquisitions, structured financing projects, new financial products and capital markets transactions.
Oscar also continuously represents taxpayers in their controversies with the tax authorities, including tax audits, mediation, arbitration and litigation procedures.

Represented Glencore in the design and incorporation of its Mexican fuels trading structure and its JV with G500.
Represented CCLA, a partnership between CIM and Compass, in the negotiation and structuring of a joint venture with GIC for the development of a multifamily real estate portfolio.
Represented HSBC Taiwan, as underwriter in the Federal Electricity Commission’s USD$750 million first ever bond placement in Taiwan Fromosa market.
