We are pleased to announce the appointment of the following Associates as Counsel at our firm:

Luis Miguel Posadas Yáñez, who joined the firm in 2013. He has more than 18 years of experience advising underwriters and issuers in debt and equity offerings in Mexico and abroad. In mergers and acquisitions, he has advised purchasers, sellers and financial advisors in the process of acquisition of private and public companies. Luis Miguel also has substantial experience covering both domestic and cross-border banking and financing transactions. He has advised various financial institutions in major deals, including leverage buyouts and tender offers. From 2019 to 2020 Luis Miguel worked as a Foreign Associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York, United States.

Santiago Zardain Escudero, who joined the firm in 2019. He has extensive experience in financing and M&A related to infrastructure projects, providing advice in different stages of their development, including the negotiation of power purchase agreements, construction and operation contracts, and land and supply contracts, among others. Moreover, Santiago is an expert in the analysis and consultancy of various legal and regulatory matters related to electricity, gas transportation, and infrastructure development in general, as well as the drafting and negotiation of civil, commercial, and administrative contracts. Prior to joining the firm, Santiago was part of the Comisión Federal de Electricidad (Federal Electricity Commission), in the context of the 2013 Energy Reform, where he worked, among others, on the development and negotiation of electricity supply and coverage contracts, energy import and export agreements, as well as regulatory analysis and consultancy on the subject.
