Rodrigo Conesa served as partner of the firm from 1991 to 2022 and currently acts as Of Counsel.
During more than three decades at the firm, he played a key role in developing and consolidating the real estate practice, positioning it as one of the leading practices in Mexico.
He has advised national and international clients on all aspects of real estate transactions, including development, financing, acquisitions, and divestments across diverse market segments. Rodrigo has also guided pension funds, private equity funds, and real estate investment vehicles in structuring, financing, and executing strategic investments in Mexico, as well as in mergers and acquisitions involving real estate portfolios.
As Of Counsel, Rodrigo continues to provide strategic advice based on his deep knowledge of the real estate market and his significant experience in complex transactions.
Relevant Experience
- Represented Walton Street Capital in the acquisition of the JW Marriott Hotel in Mexico City and the Resort at Pedregal Hotel in Los Cabos.
- Represented Thor Urbana Capital in the development and financing of mixed-use, retail and residential projects in different parts of Mexico.
- Represented Terrafina in the acquisition of a portfolio of more than 30 industrial facilities in different parts of Mexico.
- Represented Abilia in the acquisition, financing, development and disposition of mixed use assets in various parts of Mexico.
- Represented Kimco Realty Corporation in the sale of nine commercial plazas located in diverse cities of the Mexican Republic to Planigrupo for approximately MXN$2,600 million.
- Represented Santander Global Property through its special purpose vehicle, Promociones y Servicios Santiago, in the sale of nine plots of land located at Reforma Avenue in Mexico City to Grupo Sordo Madaleno and Grupo Galem for USD$172 million.
- Represented Kimco in the sale to Fibra Shop of a portfolio of three commercial malls located in Hermosillo, Sonora, Tapachula, Chiapas and Cuautla, Morelos for an aggregate amount of approximately MXN$1,532 million.
- Represented Kimco Realty Corporation in the sale of a portfolio of nine shopping centers located in different cities of Mexico, among them Huixquilucan, Estado de México, Tuxtepec, Oaxaca and Cancún to Grupo Frisa and Macquarie for approximately MXN$2,300 million.
- Represented Walton Street Capital and Finsa in the sale of a portfolio of 34 industrial properties for an aggregate value of over USD$400 million and the assigning of the financing of such properties by Bancomext and GEREM. The price of the transaction, without considering the financing, was of USD$224 million.
- Represented General Electric Capital Corporation in the sale to a FIBRA Macquarie of its portfolio of industrial warehouses for approximately USD$800 million, representing the biggest sale of industrial warehouses in Latin America.
