Gabriel joined the firm in 2013 and has been a partner since 2023.
He has an exceptional track record in structuring and executing complex real estate transactions, with deep expertise in joint ventures, large-scale developments, portfolio acquisitions, and hospitality projects. In the hospitality sector, he has negotiated complex hotel and branded residence agreements, establishing himself as a trusted advisor in this highly specialized field.
Gabriel also advises prominent Mexican and international financial institutions on bridge and long-term financings, as well as on the structuring and implementation of advanced security packages, primarily involving real estate assets. His practice further extends to mergers and acquisitions, where he is actively engaged across a broad range of industries.
Gabriel gained international experience as a foreign associate at Cravath, Swaine & Moore LLP in New York. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Armour Secure Title Insurance (ArmSec), contributing his strategic insight and governance experience to the company’s leadership.
Relevant Experience
- Represented Public Sector Pension Investment Board (PSP), through Advance Real Estate, in the sale to Walton Street Capital (now Ares Capital) of 61 Class A industrial buildings totaling over 10.4 million square feet of gross leasable area (GLA), along with 13.6 million square feet of industrial.
- Represented Banorte in the structured financing provided to Parks Hospitality Holdings (PHH) for the development and operation of Hilton and Waldorf Astoria hotels in Cancún, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
- Represented BG Hotels, one of Spain’s most prominent and fastest‑growing hotel groups, in its acquisition of Ganzi, owner of the Devossion by Live Aqua Hotel in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and in the related acquisition financing arranged with a syndicate of banks led by BBVA Spain.
- Represented Citi México in the structured financing provided to Grupo Frisa and Macquarie for their joint retail platform comprising seven shopping centers.
- Represented Thor Urbana in its joint venture with Mota Engil Turismo for the large‑scale Nauka development in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico, comprising high‑end residential lots, a Ritz‑Carlton Hotel, and branded residences.
- Represented Grupo Dine/Desc in its joint venture with LCA for the development and construction of a hotel and branded residences to be operated by Montage in Punta Mita, Nayarit, Mexico, including the related hotel financing arranged with a syndicate of banks led by Sabadell México.
- Represented One Development Group (ODG) in hotel and residence agreements with Accor for the operation of a Raffles Hotel and branded residences in East Cape, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
- Represented Related México in its joint venture with MRP and Pulso Inmobiliario for the development of a hotel and residential project in Reforma, Mexico City, to be operated by Thompson Hotels.
- Represented CIM/FVIII in the sale of its Mexico Multifamily Portfolio to Be Grand, comprising six multifamily buildings strategically located in Mexico City and Nuevo León.
- Represented Promecap in the structured financing of real estate projects for diverse developers in Estado de México, San Miguel de Allende, and Nuevo León, including the design and implementation of complex security packages.
