Asaf Jiménez joined the firm in 2000 and has been a partner since 2018.
He is actively involved in financing transactions with a particular focus on projects in the power sector and other infrastructure industries, representing developers, investors, and financial institutions. His projects practice includes transactions involving federal and local public-private partnerships, public works, and other government contracting schemes. In mergers and acquisitions, his experience focuses on transactions in the aforementioned sectors.
He also has extensive experience in financings involving federal, state, and municipal governments, advising debtors, creditors, and credit rating agencies.
Asaf gained international experience as a foreign associate in the Projects and Energy group at Clifford Chance in Washington, D.C.
Relevant Experience
- Represented lenders in the financing of a 300 MW solar park in Aguascalientes, Mexico, awarded in CENACE’s third long-term power auction.
- Represented Bluemex Power 1 (EDF) on the financing of a 90 MW photovoltaic project in Sonora, Mexico.
- Represented lenders in a USD $209 million financing to FRV Potosí Solar for a 300 MW solar plant in San Luis Potosí.
- Represented lenders in a USD $513.4 million financing for the 424 MW Reynosa III Wind Farm in Tamaulipas.
- Represented Mizuho Bank and other banks on a USD $239.8 million credit facility to Energía Sierra Juárez for a 155 MW wind farm in Baja California.
- Represented EDF in the acquisition of two wind farm developments (320 MW) in Oaxaca.
- Represented a Dutch fund on the sale of three mini-hydroelectric projects in Jalisco and Guerrero.
- Represented the State of Mexico in a MXN $3 billion financing granted by Banobras under the Profise program.
- Represented the Municipality of Los Cabos on a MXN $350 million bank loan.
- Represented the Municipality of La Paz in a MXN $122 million financing.
- Represented ISSSTE in social infrastructure projects under PPP schemes in Mérida and Mexico City.
