Ritch Mueller Contributes to the Reform Proposal to Recognize BIC Companies in Mexico

On October 16, 2025, a proposal to amend Mexico’s General Law of Commercial Companies was presented before the Senate to include the legal framework for Benefit and Collective Interest Companies (Sociedades BIC). 

The initiative was drafted by a working group of five experts, including our lawyer James E. Ritch and Daniela Solís,  within the framework of the Research Network for a New Economy (REDINE).

This project aims to grant legal recognition to purpose-driven companies that combine profitability with positive social and environmental impact, aligning Mexican corporate law with regional and international standards promoting sustainability, transparency, and expanded corporate accountability.
