Mexico GRI Energy Talks 2026

On May 28th, our partner Jorge Oria will participate as Moderator in the Mexico GRI Energy Talks 2026, during the session titled "Viability Conditions – What must be met for a project to go into operation?". The event will take place on May 28th in Mexico City. This session will analyze the key drivers that define bankability and successful execution in the current landscape:

The key topics that are going to be address during the session are:

  • Interconnection and Grid: An analysis of effective versus theoretical capacity and the regulatory bottlenecks encountered during the development phase.
  • Technical and Design Risks: Critical factors that stall projects after their announcement and how early decisions impact the asset’s entire life cycle.
  • Critical Loads and Offtakers: Current requirements from energy-intensive users and data centers.
  • ESG and Safety: Indispensable requirements from the basic engineering stage to ensure compliance with international standards.

The Mexican energy sector is navigating a complex transition where announcing an investment is no longer a guarantee of successful operation. A project’s success now depends on the precise alignment of technical design, regulatory feasibility, and the demands of an increasingly sophisticated market.
